Oyster Season Opened this Week!

How Forest Gump feels about shrimp is how most folks in the Lowcountry feel about oysters! You can bake, broil, saute, grill, roast, pan fried, deep fried, oyster po boy, oyster Caesar, oyster stew, oysters Rockefeller, oysters Mignonette, oyster stuffing or slurp it down raw!bucket of oysters

Bluffton is home to South Carolina’s only operational oyster shucking plant.  Located  where Wharf Road runs into the water, Bluffton Oyster Company processes May River Oysters. Everyday shuckers chisel the salty morsels from the sharp clusters of shells, just as did generations before them.

Every fall, localoyster oyster roasts start popping up all across the Lowcountry, many are fundraisers for local charities. They make for a fun afternoon of great music, delicious oysters, meeting old friends and making new ones. It is a true taste of the Lowcountry at it’s finest. Make sure you sign up to get our blog in your inbox every week!  You don’t want to miss any of these!

That’s all I have to say about that!
