Here’s your chance to make a piece of Lowcountry history to take home with you for Christmas! The Coastal Discovery Museum, one of the local not-for-profit organizations we proudly support, has announced two sweetgrass wreath making classes to be held on December 8th and December 22nd from 10:30 am until 12:30 pm. A local 7th generation Gullah basket maker will teach this special holiday class. You will hear the history of the Sweetgrass basket, one of the Lowcountry’s best known art forms, while you make your own decorative Sweetgrass wreath using locally found natural materials. The class is $65 per person and reservations are required by calling 843-689-6767 ext. 223. The Museum is located at 70 Honey Horn Drive on Hilton Head Island. See you there!
