Decorating for the fall season is always a fun time, but giving the season a coastal look is even better!
With decorating your pumpkins inspired by the ocean you can give fall a summer feel! Here is a fun and creative way to bring the ocean home during the season.
What you will need:
- White craft sand
- Paint brushes
- Mod podge matte finish
- x-acto knife
- seashells (optional)
Step 1: You have picked the perfect pumpkin, now it is time to decorate! Think of a good coastal color you want your pumpkin to be, like an ocean blue. Paint your pumpkin the color you have selected, wait for it to completely dry.
Step 2: Once your pumpkin is dry, dip a paintbrush into the matte mod podge finish and paint on waves. You can make it easier and print out a stencil of waves if you can’t free hand them. Paint the waves on the lower section of the pumpkin, your way around the base in sections.
Step 3: Once you have completed the waves, place your pumpkin on a cooking sheet or pan. Take your white sand and pour that over the mod podge waves.
Step 4: Once your pumpkin is set and dry, if you have any seashells you collected from Hilton Head or bought you can add them to the stem.
