The month of February is when Hilton Head Island holds their annual Gullah celebration. The Gullah culture is from the lowcountry area of South Carolina and Georgia, with ties to West Africa, particularly from individuals who came to this country as slaves. Celebrate and honor the spiritual thread that binds the African ancestors and the Gullah of today through traditional popular and historical home grown gospel music, traditional songs and interpretive dance. Featuring the Gullah Celebration Combined Youth Choir and The Community All Stars. Hilton Head Island Middle School this Friday at 7pm-free.
