The Coastal Discovery Museum of Hilton Head is offering a really intriguing program for people interested in the ecology of the low country. The program is called “Barrier Island Ecology” and will cover the important features of South Carolina barrier islands (such as Hilton Head) and what we can learn about tourist/resident growth patterns as well as how we can avoid impacting animal habitats and water quality. The program will also cover how local government makes their shoreline management decisions. The program will be presented by the South Coastal Office Director of the Coastal Conservation League, Kate Schaefer. The presentation will be from 3pm-4pm on August 24th 2016. It’s only $7 per person and reservations are required by calling 843-689-6767 ext: 223 or online at www.coastaldiscovery.org. The Museum is located at 70 Honey Horn Drive on Hilton Head Island.
