Fireworks…they always put a smile on my face! Just thinking about them reminds me of my childhood and lazy summer days. For those who visit Hilton Head Island, South Carolina each summer, they are also a tradition.
Each Tuesday evening (weather permitting) the Shelter Cove Center puts on a fireworks display to rival those held each small town across America for the 4th of July. However, on Hilton Head Island we do fireworks in style and we do them once a week throughout the summer!
If you are an annual visitor to The Island, you might want to try something different this year and that is to view the fireworks from the water—get a front row seat! How you ask?
Island Explorer offers a Fireworks Cruise that leaves from the dock near The Old Oyster Factory. Away from the crowds, this excursion will take you out onto the water where you get a clear view of the fireworks, and might even see some dolphins who are there for the show as well.
Outside Hilton Head also offer a Fireworks Boat Cruise. This cruise incorporates their 2-hour dolphin cruise with an additional 1/2 hour on the water to view the spectacular fireworks from the water.
Another great option to enjoy a Fireworks Kayak tour. Offered by Kayak Hilton Head, this tour takes place just before the sun goes done. Guest will kayak through the beautiful salt march of Broad Creek where there is a good chance they will see dolphins and a variety of birds, fish and other wildlife. Just before dark, they pull a crab trap and allow guests to hang on their dock (just down river but with a clear view) to watch the fireworks! Away from the crowds and close to the water…it is a definite memorable experience for the entire family.
Both of these experiences require reservations, and often fill up in advance. If you are interested, I encourage you to book your trip early on! And remember, as a guest of Beach Properties of Hilton Head you will be enrolled in our Advantage Discount programs and receive a discount!
