There is a little seafood joint tucked away on a side street that has been a favorite spot for locals since 1998:
They have the freshest seafood in town, along with down-home, southern, lowcountry-style cooking. Each of their seafood entrees is “made to order”, and the variety of seafood they offer is amazing. The atmosphere is very casual, but the food is outstanding. Some of our favorite items include the hush puppies, blackened grouper, shrimp croquettes, and the Shark Attack Combo (a crabcake, your choice of fish, shrimp, scallops and oysters with two sides & those awesome hush puppies). Whatever your choice of seafood, they are sure to have it. And by the way, their “claim to fame” is when Rachael Ray came to Hilton Head Island and included The Sea Shack on her “$40 a Day” Food Network TV show!
Over time the word got out as it often does when a place is this good… and when a Major Food Star gives it a rave review. So these days, at least in the summer, you can expect to wait!
And folks will do just that because the food is GOOD, reasonably priced, and when you are on vacation it is always fun to go to the place that is off-the-beaten-track a little bit. The one-of-a-kind place. The place with some local ATMOSPHERE. And trust us, the Sea Shack has all that! And here’s a good tip: Head there for lunch and avoid the lines…
The Sea Shack is located at 6B Executive Park Rd, Hilton Head Island, 29928. They are open year-round for lunch and dinner, every day but Sunday.
