Shelter Cove Harbour is home to one of Hilton Head Islands most famous and treasured landmarks, King Neptune. Standing at 12 feet tall and weighing in at a solid one ton, he welcomes visitors at the entrance of Shelter Cove Marina. This statue is made of solid bronze and is also one of the worlds largest working sundials. When the trident’s shadow falls across the 26-foot base, the numbers shown reveal the current time. He has been on the Island since 1983 and has been the background of many family portraits over the years. He can be seen getting into the holiday spirit in his Santa Claus hat during the month of December. Be sure not to miss out on having your photo taken with the King!
